The Neuroscience and Yoga Conference Recap
The Neuroscience and Yoga Conference Recap
The Neuroscience and Yoga Conference is a premier annual event dedicated to bridging the gap between ancient mind-body traditions and cutting-edge brain science. The 2026 program specifically highlighted three themes: the management of migraines and headaches through autonomic modulation, the application of yoga in schools to support neurodiversity, and the science of Brain Longevity® for healthy aging. Designed for teachers, clinicians, and curious practitioners alike, the event offers a platform to master the neuroscience behind yoga and translate those insights into actionable tools for healthcare, education, and personal well-being.
Dr. Jonathan Rosenthal, MD, is a neurologist and yogi who organizes and hosts this remarkable event. He said, “The 2026 Neuroscience and Yoga Conference was a success, bringing together 7,000+ participants from 99+ countries! This year’s conference featured world-class presenters, evidence-based education, live yoga workshops, Q&As, and discussion groups, with a whole day dedicated to Brain Longevity.
Most importantly, the impact was clear in the feedback. One student said, “I loved Dr. Helen Lavretsky’s diverse approach to the topic. Her studies were presented openly and with integrity.” Attendees described the conference as exceptional, informative, motivating, and immediately applicable, with many saying it strengthened how they practice, teach, and advocate for yoga. We are deeply grateful to our sponsor, The Alzheimer’s Research and Prevention Foundation, for making this conference possible.”
Helen Lavretsky, MD, is on ARPF’s Medical and Scientific Advisory Council. Dr. Lavretsky presented “Yoga, Mind-Body Connections, Resilience and Brain Health.” Donna Noble, MSc, RYT, is on ARPF’s Yoga Advisory Council. Donna held a yoga workshop: Life Is the Practice: An Introduction to Body Positive Yoga and Its Impact on Brain Health. We are thrilled to see this important research and resources come into the spotlight.

Yoga researchers from around the world shared short, engaging presentations on the latest yoga research. Two Brain Longevity Specialists presented virtual Poster Sessions at the conference. Mariama Williams, PhD, RYT, C-IAYT, BLS, presented Kirtan Kriya as a Preparatory Practice for Somatic Meditation. Cathy Watkins, EdD, RYT, RCYT, BLS, presented a Case Study on Alma’s Journey, 4 Pillars Enchancing Wellness. We are so proud to see our graduates sharing ARPF’s vital research with the world.
ARPF is honored to serve as both a sponsor and a lead researcher in this field. By contributing our pioneering data on Brain Longevity and the 4 Pillars of Alzheimer’s Prevention® to this dialogue, we hope to empower attendees with the evidence-based tools needed to make a measurable impact in their own communities. We are proud to support this essential bridge between the research lab and the yoga studio, ensuring that the future of cognitive health is built on a foundation of rigorous science and holistic wisdom.
