In Brain Longevity Therapy Training, General, Newsletter, Stress Management

Your ARPF is proud to introduce another outstanding Brain Longevity Therapy Training specialist:

Roger Mallory, Juris Doctor, RYT500, BA, BLS

By Roger Mallory

My yoga and meditation training and practices began when I was a teenager. About 12 years ago, I returned to daily yoga and meditation practice. About 7 years ago, I became a Registered Yoga Teacher, and have regularly taught yoga and meditation since becoming an RYT500; primarily in yoga studios in the Tampa Bay, Florida area.

After obtaining my BLS certification, I determined the “best fit” for a workshop, given my teaching experience, interests, subject matter expertise, relevant credentials, venue (a yoga studio), and the potential attendees (including my regular students and newcomers), was to offer a 2-hour workshop that focused on meditation and, specifically, Sat Nam. The second workshop I presented was on the same subject matter, but I added the topics of brain longevity diet, and brain health-enhancing vitamins and supplements. I extended my second workshop to 2.5 hours.

Roger, seated, and half of this yoga class.

My teaching experiences in these 2 events were very positive and encouraging. I was struck by the wide range of ages, interests, and relevant experiences of the attendees. The interests of the attendees split into those whose primary interest was yoga and meditation, the greater number, and those primarily focused on brain health/longevity. The attendees remained very attentive and engaged throughout the workshop. I was impressed by the energy they invested in the kirtan kriya/Sat Nam training and practices. As a regular teacher of meditation, it doesn’t get any better than having a classroom full of students participating with devotion and attention to all the modalities of their meditation practice. My concern that attendees would be too shy to invest the appropriate energy in their vocalization portions was proven unwarranted. The strong, collective, and harmonious sounds reverberated in the room.

The attendees asked excellent questions. As the workshop came to a conclusion, it was clear many didn’t want to leave the room. Seeing, hearing, and feeling the joy and happiness in the room was very rewarding. Some attendees asked when I might offer further teaching/training, and if I planned to repeat the workshop at a future time because they wanted to encourage their loved ones to attend, and, some, too wanted to repeat the experience. I plan on having more sessions in January 2023.
