. . .
Dear friends,
I am very interested in Air Pollution as a new risk factor for Alzheimer’s disease. It’s an emerging topic that was not widely reported on until recently.

I remember when The Lancet Commission on Dementia Prevention issued the first list of modifiable risk factors in 2017. It was a breakthrough for the scientific community to state that 35% of dementia cases were possibly preventable. To review, the nine lifestyle modifications were: Diabetes, Social Isolation, Physical Inactivity, Depression, Smoking, Obesity, Hypertension, Hearing Loss, and Less Education.
Then in 2024, they released an updated list of fourteen risk factors and stated that up to 45% of dementia cases could be prevented. The new list includes these additional risk factors: High LDL Cholesterol, Traumatic Brain Injury, Excessive Alcohol, Vision Loss, and Air Pollution.
In 2025 and 2026, we at ARPF are bringing Air Pollution education to you to fulfill our mission of preventing Alzheimer’s disease.
We’ve already had one very successful webinar on this topic featuring Dr. Chris Walling, PsyD, MBA, FABP, and Dr. Annie Fenn, MD. Requests have been pouring in for another, so on April 24th, we’re having a second webinar – Putting Out The Fire: Save Your Brain, Save Your Life, Save The Planet.
This one will feature the renowned Dr. George Perry, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease, who will present his investigations on this topic. I will then reveal the program from my vantage point. You’ll learn what I consider to be the number one priority of taking care of yourself in the future.
By combining this troubling scientific information with the evidence-based Brain Longevity® program, we can raise awareness and offer practical ways to save your brain, your life, and the planet. I hope to see you there.
Yours in Brain Health,
Dharma Singh Khalsa, M.D.
