By Polly Morgan
For many years, my life centered on caregiving. My mother lived with my husband and me for 28 years, suffering through a decade-long battle with Alzheimer’s. The final few years, marked by personality changes and the difficult decision to move her to a nursing home just six months before her passing in June 2020, were incredibly difficult.

After losing my mother, I was driven to research prevention. That’s when I discovered ARPF and the Brain Longevity Therapy Training (BLTT).
The training immediately appealed to me because it focused on natural, yoga-based methods for prevention rather than just treatment. Having practiced and taught yoga since age 20, I found a powerful synergy between the science and the principles I already valued.
The course was thorough, interesting, and easy to navigate – I completed it online over about a year, loving the fact that all recommendations were based on solid scientific research and rooted in yogic principles. Studying natural methods and lifestyle changes helped me move through the grief of losing my mother, turning my pain into a purposeful mission.
I support ARPF because I believe, deeply, that prevention is the answer.
It makes sense economically, and most importantly, it alleviates suffering. Helping others prevent Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias has become a mission in my life.
My commitment is so strong that I offer my classes for free, ensuring anyone can attend regardless of their ability to pay. If my teaching of the 4 Pillars of Alzheimer’s Prevention® helps prevent even one person from getting this terrible disease, it is worth my time.
The sincerity and dedication of the ARPF staff are undeniable. When I was asked to present the Brain Longevity Training for Ohio Wesleyan University’s Lifetime Learning Program, Kirti Khalsa and her team went above and beyond to provide the materials I needed. We had 70 people register, and despite the town being under a tornado watch on the last day, almost everyone attended… that is a testament to the power of this prevention message.
What resonates with me most about ARPF is the scope of what they offer, and the fact that all recommendations are based on scientific research.
The ARPF framework, which addresses the 4 Pillars of Alzheimer’s Prevention – Diet, Stress Management, Physical/Mental Exercise, and Spiritual Fitness – aligns perfectly with my core belief.
Hippocrates, the Father of Modern Medicine, said, “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” The idea of prevention has been around for a very long time, and the ARPF program embraces it beautifully.
Fortunately, I teach at a Senior Center that supports all 4 Pillars: psychosocial well-being, physical and mental fitness, healthy diet, and stress reduction. It’s a perfect match, allowing me to share this life-changing, science-backed knowledge with my community every single day.
