Why a Yoga Advisory Council (YAC) at ARPF?
To formally recognize the importance of yoga in optimal brain health and healthy aging, and advance the Four Pillars of Alzheimer’s Prevention, as confirmed by the decades of research sponsored by ARPF.
Who is part of YAC?
We are inviting representatives from all lineages and schools of yoga worldwide who are interested in brain health and aging, and who can demonstrate leadership in their community as far as teaching and mentoring underserved groups and minorities. Their implied endorsement of this YAC will help consolidate the role of yoga as lifestyle medicine.
We welcome: all religions, all races, all genders, all countries of origin, all sexual orientations, all ethnicities, all abilities.
What is the role of YAC?
To serve in an advisory capacity to ARPF and its public outreach and education program, The Brain Longevity Therapy Training (BLTT) Program. Assist in making recommendations for curriculum updates, provide feedback on special projects, new research and share information about potential spaces and places to host educational initiatives. We would also appreciate your assistance in sharing the research and programs through your circles as appropriate.
Scope of Work:
We envision creating an intimate network of individuals dedicated to improving the health of their communities and advancing the knowledge base of the Certified BLTT Community.
They will hold ARPF in mind during their own educational and outreach efforts and connect ARPF whenever possible to interested parties who can help advance ARPF’s public health advocacy mission to prevent Alzheimer’s Disease. We welcome YAC members to nominate scholarship recipients for the Brain Longevity Therapy Training who might best disseminate the 4 Pillars of Alzheimer’s Prevention program within their communities.
Time Commitment:
This is a volunteer position. As the YAC is a new initiative, we expect to meet once/twice a year, and only 3-4 emails per year. If you would like to be more active and bring your ideas to the table, we welcome your participation!
