Guts & Glory Digestive and Wellness Expo

 In General

The ninth annual Guts & Glory Digestive and Wellness Expo is a free, all-ages, pet-friendly celebration of health sponsored by Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center. ARPF was happy to have representative Doug Hayward, RYT, BLS lead a yoga class for attendees and provide resources on the 4 Pillars of Prevention®.

The whole county is invited to the Expo, which meant that hundreds of people stopped by Doug’s area to learn about Alzheimer’s prevention. Doug gave out resources, including 250 business cards with information about the 4 Pillars of Prevention. Beyond that, he led mini yoga classes on the hour throughout the day. The Expo was such a success that Penn State invited Doug to attend their upcoming event on brain health and Alzheimer’s disease. “It was amazing to be so well received by the county and for Penn State to recognize the need for a seminar on Alzheimer’s prevention,” Doug said.

Aligning with ARPF’s own message, the Guts & Glory Digestive and Wellness Expo showcases:

  • Nutrition, fitness and healthy living talks
  • Exercise demos ─ participation encouraged
  • Kid-targeted zones on healthy eating and exercise
  • Holistic health experts and stress relief tips
  • MEGA-colon gut-health exhibit
  • Massage tent
  • Farmers’ market
  • Live local music
  • Free food samples
  • Healthy food and non-alcoholic drinks for sale
  • Free health screenings
