In Kirtan Kriya, KK Meditation, Meditation, Support Alzheimer's Research and Prevention

With full hearts, your ARPF is so thankful for the amazing meditation teachers who volunteered their time and energy to lead the Kirtan Kriya meditation for us during the Brain Longevity Challenge. You can visit our Brain Longevity Specialist directory for more information about these wonderful leaders.

Joan Binder, RYT, BLS
Joan has been teaching yoga since 2011. Her classes include Hatha, Chair Yoga, and Yin. Joan completed the Brain Longevity Therapy Training in 2022. In January 2023, Joan organized a 4-day workshop on Brain Longevity for her community in Western Springs, Illinois. The subject of brain health is near and dear to her heart. Joan enjoys learning as much as she can on the topic and sharing this knowledge with others.

Barbara Lowes, RYT, YACEP, Reiki Master, BLS
Barb was inspired to study the practice of Brain Longevity after her father passed away from Alzheimer’s. She uses this passion to teach others the empowering yoga strategies found in ancient wisdom teachings. These studies are proven to relieve tension and anxiety, improve mood, boost focus and concentration – plus build a strong memory to keep the brain active, robust, and healthy.

Judy Romano, MD, FAAP, RYT, BLS
Dr. Judy is a physician in Appalachia who has a special interest in Brain Development and Brain health. She enjoys teaching yoga and embraces the melding of eastern and western knowledge to enhance health.

Nik Sarac, RYT, BLS
Nik is a registered yoga instructor through the International Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association and Yoga Alliance. It took many years of struggling with mental turmoil, and many detours, to finally settle into a consistent spiritual practice. Ultimately, standing still and leaning into the practice is where he found his liberation. Nik shares the teachings of Kundalini Yoga from a personal place of understanding struggle, with the intention of sharing the feelings of peace and inner reverence that he has cultivated through the practice of the Yoga of Awareness.

Maudo
 Sey, RYT, BLS
Maudo is trained in cognitive nutrition counseling by Sverigehälsan – Sweden’s premier educational provider in health and wellness with a specific focus on the psychology and cognition of diet and nutrition. He is a yoga teacher with over 300 hours across several teacher trainings and has a deep interest in yoga anatomy and therapeutic applications. Maudo also leads classes in somatic breathwork meditation.

Fletcher Wilkins, RYT, BSE
Fletcher has a bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering and has been working in the nuclear industry for over twenty years. Having a daily Kundalini Yoga and Meditation practice allows him to work in a highly stressful environment and remain calm. “I am honored to be a member of the ARPF Board and help share these lifestyle-based concepts. I know what it is like to see a close family member succumb to Alzheimer’s and the toll that it can take on the family. My hope is to get the work that we are doing more into the mainstream and help others.”
