30 Years of Alzheimer's Prevention Conference - FAQ

When should I arrive and/or leave Scottsdale?

We suggest you arrive on Friday afternoon/evening at the latest, so you can be at registration on Saturday at 7:00 am, September 30th.
If leaving by plane, you can then plan to be at the airport on Sunday, October 1st at 1:30 pm.

What is the closest airport?

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is recommended at 21.3 miles (27 minutes) from the conference venue. Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport is also an option to consider but is 40 miles (41 minutes) from the conference venue. Both airports offer rideshare pick up/drop off, as well as rental car services. What kind of hotel rooms are available?

The following room types are available to conference attendees at the discounted rate; available first come, first served. Rooms can be shared if you prefer. Click here for additional hotel room information and to book your reservation.
– Suite; Two double beds (max occupancy: 6). Includes separate bedroom with additional sofabed
– Suite; One king bed (max occupancy: 4). Includes separate bedroom with sofabed

Is there transportation from the Best Western to the conference?

Unfortunately ARPF is not able to arrange for this transportation. Attendees can carpool or use Uber/Lyft. It’s only 1.8 miles from the conference site.

Is there food/snacks included in the conference?

Yes! The following are included:

  • Saturday: fruit and coffee/tea at registration, morning coffee break, afternoon coffee break, evening reception
  • Sunday: breakfast and morning coffee break

What if I have specific dietary requirements?

We will send out a questionnaire to gather information about attendees’ dietary needs a couple of months prior to the conference date, so we can meet your needs as much as possible.

What about lunch on Saturday?

Lunch on Saturday is on your own. ARPF will provide an option for onsite meals, but you are welcome to bring your own. Details will be provided at registration.

Where is the Saturday evening reception taking place?

We are excited to welcome you at the renowned Gainey Ranch Golf Club, 7600 Gainey Club Drive, Scottsdale, AZ 85258. [map]

Gainey Ranch Golf Club is only 3.2 miles from the Conference site and only 5 miles from the Best Western.

Do I have time to go to the hotel to change before the Saturday reception?

Yes, there will be approx 1 ½ hour between the end of the conference and the reception

Is there transportation to and from the reception?

Unfortunately ARPF is not able to provide transportation, but we can carpool and will help you coordinate Uber if desired.

Can I bring a guest to the Saturday evening reception?

Of course! Additional tickets are available at $130/ticket.

Is it possible to cancel my registration if I am unable to attend at the last minute?

Yes, we understand that sometimes plans change. Please note the following Cancellation Policy: All cancellations must be submitted in writing to kirti@alzheimersprevention.org and will be charged a $60 processing fee. Cancellations received after September 10th are non refundable; they can be applied to another program.
